Surfline has been on the web for over 17 years and has not had a major redesign in that time. Approaching a redesign, we needed the right tools to ensure consistency and quality across the Product team. We were able to streamline our process by implementing Abstract, Sketch, Invision, and Zeplin. These tools gave us full transparency to all stakeholders and made working in a team of three designers much easier.
Within my web design process, I found myself spending a large amount of time building low-fidelity prototypes. Although this step is critical in avoiding time-intensive redesigns down the road, I wanted to find a way to accelerate it. I firmly believe that no site should be built within a template, but most share many common elements. Enter Wireflo, my UI kit designed from scratch.
All of the included elements can be quickly cloned into the structure of a new site build, adjusted and customized. Each asset includes its tag, making fine tunes to the HTML/CSS as simple as a quick search. Wireflo has dramatically decreased my time spent developing prototypes, allowing me to put a larger focus on the final design and development process.
